Another year has passed and we are into Christmas yet again. This past year we have had our share of laughter and growth, and answered prayers along with challenges overcome. This year we have shared and discovered new possibilities through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We have celebrated 25 years as a Parish, and look to the future with great expectation and hope. The Presence of Jesus Christ has always been at the centre of all our endeavours, and we pray that this will continue in the New Year.
Today we come to revisit the baby that was born unto to us in a manger lowly. This child who breathed over creation and gives life to each of us, became dependent on Mary for life. His name was Jesus, Emmanuel (God with us) and later the King of Kings. Let us not forget this Christmas season that little child who brought salvation to our world - a Child who grew up to be humble and meek, a child who grew up to become a man who loved the loveless, who ate and drank with outcasts and sinners, who healed the blind and those who were broken hearted. That is our humble King - the Prince of Peace that saves us. What will you do with Jesus this Christmas? Will Jesus be an afterthought to all the gifts? Will He be something you think about after everything else is done? Or Will Jesus be the centre of your heart and home? Your First thoughts? What gift will you give to the "birthday boy" this Christmas? Your money, your time, your prayers, your family, your heart??? Please don't forget the One who never forgets!
At Christmas, God offers us his unconditional and everlasting love, his Son our saviour Jesus Christ. This Christmas may God become our greatest treasure.
From My family to yours we wish you a very Blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
