| previous page | "I remember very clearly the first day I heard the bell at St. Andrew's in Bishop's Falls," said Mrs. Coffin. "It was the day my daughter Mabel was laid to rest, March 16, 1931. We had only moved to Bishop's Falls in October of 1930, and the church family was certainly a blessing at that time." Mrs. Coffin also said some of her happiest recollections of St. Andrew's included special services, socials for visiting clergy and guests, as well as fund raisers that were held by the ACWA. "I remember when the women's association was formed,," she said, "That was when I was involved in everything at the church. We always had a small congregation, so we took fund-raising activities very seriously. We had a lot of fun gathering for teas, and sewing and making crafts that could be sold for the church. "But I was always involved at St. Andrew's," she added. "And I raised my family to be church-goers as well. In fact, my grandson David Coffin is |
