| previous page | St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Bishop's Falls marked a milestone last weekend as church members and guests gathered to celebrate the church's 75th anniversary. The occasion was marked with a banquet held Saturday, and continued Sunday morning with a special anniversary service. The anniversary was a time of celebration, and it also gave the congregation an opportunity to reminisce about some of the highlights of church life during the past 75 years. But no one had more to remember than Leah Coffin, the oldest member of St. Andrew's congregation. Mrs. Coffin, who is 92 years old, moved to Bishop's Falls with her husband Harold in 1930, nine years after St. Andrew's opened its doors. She remembers the original families who formed the congregation, the clergy members who have called St. Andrew's home, and she has spent some of her happiest and saddest times at the church. |
